Description of the arms:

On field argent, corn and cotton plants in sinople. On gules, two bulls and a goat in natural colors. On azur, a mountain, at its sinester side a sown field and an oil field in sinople. The arms of the Count of Sierra Gorda near the top.
The figures of this coat of amrs are mainly for the the economic activities of the State. The first quarter is for agriculture; livestook is represented in the second quarter; the lower part a Tamaulipas landscape headed by the "Cerro de Bernal" (Bernal Hill) and the economic activities put together. The Count's arms honors his work.
